Keanu Reeves. The Journey in the Dark

Perhaps this year, 2020, you had disturbing dreams, after which you woke up tired and broken and did not remember what exactly you were dreaming. So everyone’s consciousness was tested for readiness to become a part of the whole.

We can say that during the formation of the world, we made a “journey in the dark” and changed after it. In 2013, Keanu Reeves, giving an interview (Golden Globe Awards) on the theme of the film “Man of Tai Chi” (master of the Yin and Yang energies), talks about the dark journey of own power as a result of which a person can lose his soul (text of the interview on the forum).

What qualities must remain at the core of a person to create a world (Golden Globe) that could have been self-organizing and not collapsed? It’s the basis of the soul, its essence, which should remain in the heart. Otherwise, a person who fights for seemingly good goals can lead to the destruction of life as such.

Cyberpunk 2077

Polish Studio CD Projekt RED is finishing the development of the computer game “Cyberpunk 2077” as an “adult game for adult players” – it seems, those who descend into the “dark journey of their power.” The guide on this journey is Keanu Reeves, who became the image and voice of the key character – rocker Johnny Silverhand (Johnny, John, Ivan, Yanni, Yin-Yang). It’s a kind of “spirit of the deceased hero,” disembodied but visible in contrast to the “voice of intuition” in our heart. As far as I understand, for each player, he will become something of an alter ego, with whom you can exchange thoughts, even if it is a record of the possible responses of the interlocutor. According to Wikipedia, the game world is a megalopolis Night City built by the founder Night that has a full day-night cycle. (“Night, Darkness,” developing a mind out of the darkness of madness, see “Body, Mind. Soul, Spirit. Anima and Animus…” – a pair of primordial deities Kekui and Kekuit from the ancient Egyptian ogdoad created by the demiurge Ptah)

Although it is “a city of darkness,” it has a clearly defined structure – 6 regions (they remind of the 6 of the 7 lower Sefirot of the Tree of the material World of Action (the World of Effects or the World of Making) Assiah in Kabbalah, excluding the lower Sefira Malchut, the Sefira of unconscious actions for developing initial life skills). The streets are dark and rainy, like in the movie “Blade Runner.” The canadian Studio Digital Scapes helped solve some issues related to the implementation of the idea.

In the story, Night City is located between Los Angeles (with the river of the same name) and San Francisco (at the Golden Gate strait), in the free state of Northern California.

Los Angeles, Portiuncula, San Francisco

On the one hand, there is the city of Angels, the original Spanish name (1781) “El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de Los Ángeles de Porciúncula” (“A Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels of Porciuncola”). (There is a feast of the Virgin Mary’s Assumption into Heaven and assuming the role as Queen of the Angels.) From the full name of the city and river remained the word “Los Angeles” – “Angels.” Residents of the city do not always get along with each other. Los Angeles is like a mosaic made up of people who come here to fulfill their dreams of personal happiness. But reality and dreams are different. Trying to feel the city with my heart led me to the song “Let It Be” by The Beatles.

Portiuncola (Lat. “Portiuncula” – “a small part of the earth”) is a small chapel of Our Lady of the Angels with relics from the grave of the Blessed Virgin in the valley of Jehoshaphat, built by hermits in Assisi, Italy. The chapel is associated with Saint Francis of Assisi, after whom San Francisco was named – the city on the other side of Night City. According to legend, Francis had a “mystical vision” of Jesus Christ. After that, he restored several chapels in the vicinity of Assisi, including Porziuncula, near which he built a hut for himself.

Francis of Assisi

Francis was born in Assisi to a wealthy family of an Italian silk merchant and a French noblewoman from Provence. The child was named Giovanni, but even as a child, the father began to call his son Francesco – “Frenchman.” His story is somewhat similar to the life of Siddhartha Gautama (see the movie “Little Buddha” with Keanu Reeves). Both gave up their well-to-do lives and began to look for ways to change the world by turning to religion. The transformation of Francis’s consciousness did not happen in a single day. As a result, Saint Francis found his vocation in preaching the gospel among the peoples of the world, organizing an order of his followers. (The transformation of the hero’s consciousness for Great chariot is described by the phrase “ready for life and death” in the story “Ward 7” by Tarsis V. Ya.)

From Wikipedia: “On 29 November 1979, Pope John Paul II declared Saint Francis the Patron Saint of Ecology. … On 13 March 2013, upon his election as Pope, Archbishop and Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina chose Francis as his papal name in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, becoming Pope Francis.”

Franciscan order and San Francisco

The order grew into a large structure: the men’s Order of Friars Minor, the women’s Order of Saint Clare, the Third Order of Saint Francis, and the Custody of the Holy Land. Pope Pius V (XVI century) gave instructions to build the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels around the most sacred for Franciscans chapel of Porziuncula. The missionary work of members of the order of St. Francis spread to the lands of North America.

San Francisco “led” its residents through “fire, water, and copper pipes,” serving as God’s tool for transforming consciousness. In 1906, there was a devastating earthquake struck with a flood in the city, and fires followed. Another earthquake occurred in 1989. The residents of San Francisco experienced California Gold Rush and cholera (mid-19th century), and bubonic plague raged here (1900-1905). It also suffered from corruption and the mafia. In the late 60s, the center of the hippie revolution was here (“Summer of Love” 1967).

In the finale of the science fiction series “Stargate: Atlantis,” the ship city Atlantis lands in the Pacific Ocean near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco (see Wikipedia or the “Enemy at the Gate” series, 5.20). The Golden Gate Bridge is featured in several dozen films, starting with “The Maltese Falcon,” 1941.

Night City

The game city is placed between these poles as a place to train the body and mind for the Great Chariot (the software database displays the constellation URSA Major).

About two poles, two cities in the book “The City of God” by Saint Augustine, son of Saint Monica from Wikipedia: “The Earthly City and the City of God are symbolic expressions of two types of love, the struggle of egoistic (‘self-love, driven to disregard for God’) and moral (‘love of God to the point of forgetfulness of oneself’) motives.”

Night City does not have natural disasters and epidemics, but there is enough “darkness.” From Wikipedia: “Night City is an American megacity in the Free State of North California, controlled by corporations and unassailed by the laws of both country and state. It seems conflict from rampant gang wars and its ruling entities contending for dominance.

The city is reliant on robotics for everyday aspects like waste collection, maintenance, and public transportation. Its visual identity is derived from the four eras it underwent—austere Entropism, colourful Kitsch, imposing Neo-Militarism, and opulent Neo-Kitsch.

The Internet is managed by corporations and the army. Homelessness abounds but does not preclude cybernetic modification for the poor, giving rise to cosmetic addiction and consequent violence. These threats are dealt with by the armed force known as Psycho Squad. Trauma Team can be employed for rapid medical services. Because of the constant threat of physical harm, all citizens are allowed to openly carry firearms in public.”

The Player

You can enter the game as a mercenary from one of three sides – “children of the street,” “nomads from the wasteland,” “corporate employees-functionals.” Player classes: NetRunner (hacking), Techie (technique), and Solo (combat). The character can be either female or male. The player is indicated by the letter V regardless of gender. Either “victory” or a hint of the male chromosome or the genetic program of the cell nucleus. But the DNA of the nucleus and mitochondrial DNA have the same genes – the same essence for both men and women. Or that part of the soul that is not worth losing, even fighting for survival. Game with “double high.” There is an ideological and semantic content. And you can also try different situations, actions, and strategies in a world that combines the genetic program, biomechatronics, and cyber technologies. It’s cool. The game will be released on November 19, 2020.
